Cosmos solves today's hardest blockchain problems:
Scalability
Proof-of-Work protocols are slow, expensive, unscalable, and environmentally harmful.
- Tendermint BFT fixes this
Tendermint BFT is a byzantine fault tolerant consensus engine that powers Cosmos Proof-of-Stake.
Usability
Blockchain applications are complex and difficult to understand for developers.
- Cosmos SDK fixes this
Cosmos SDK is a modular framework for building interoperable, application-specific blockchains.
Interoperability
Blockchain economies are siloed and cannot transfer assets between each other.
- IBC Protocol fixes this
Interblockchain Communication (IBC) is a TCP/IP-like messaging protocol for blockchains.
Cosmos SDK
The world's most used framework for building blockchains.
Blockchain Applications in Three Steps:
- Write Your Custom Blockchain
Compose your blockchain application with a mix of prebuilt modules and your own custom modules. - Launch Your Brand-New Blockchain
Test your MVP with users, collect & iterate on feedback, and then launch your public mainnet. - Connect to Other Cosmos Blockchains
Increase adoption and liquidity of your blockchain by connecting it via IBC to Cosmos Network.
Cosmos SDK Features
- Modular
Use powerful SDK modules to customize your blockchain for specific user requirements. - Scalable
Run parallel chains to match the throughput requirements of your growing user base. - Interoperable
Communicate tokens & value with other blockchains in Cosmos with the IBC module. - Secure
Access control firewalls your blockchain application against malicious modules. - Proof-Of-Stake
Use the Cosmos PoS module as a secure foundation for your custom blockchain application. - Sovereign
Propose changes and vote on blockchain upgrades with the governance module. - Open Source
Work together to build the free and open source Cosmos developer community. - Go
Write your decentralized app in Go to take advantage of the strong Golang ecosystem.
