The NOIA Network has the following elements:

The Company is proposing to develop a content delivery network (“CDN”) connecting hundreds of thousands of personal computers during times they are idle to serve as one single “intranet”. Such participating computers will need to remain available for us to utilise their unused bandwidth forcertain periods of time in exchange for which we will reward their owners with NOIA. The bandwidth available on the CDN shall be sold to customers who will be required to pay in NOIA to access this.
Further details of the CDN, the systems to be developed by us, the services we will offer and the technology powering the whole project (collectively, the “Noia Network”) are set out in the Noia Whitepaper.

The Problems:

  • Fragmentation and design limitations: Internet grew when more and more ISP networks connected. The networks were uneven and different in size, capacity, density and distances between them. The growth was decentralized and uncoordinated. Fragmentration was built into the core of Internet and determined the Internet protocol design.
  • Severe Internet inefficiencies and security problems: Each change in any of the networks on Internet causes BGP updates. These updates make a connection between two points to have a contantly changing path, which creates severe variability in Internet’s performance.
    • Internet is Unreliable: Almost all software, application or website operators suffer from the service quality problems related to the Internet’s performance. It is impossible to guarantee service reliability without using overlay networks.
    • Hard to scale and maintain IT infrastructure: It’s impossible to provide global service without huge investments and maintainance costs. Scalability is slow, non-dynamic and requires multiple infrastructure providers.
    • Inherently not secure: Internet suffers from multiple BGP hijacks daily which cause severe privacy breaches and service disruptions. It is impossible to prevent it and reaction times varies by service providers.

The Solutions:

The ultimate solution is being able to access all available Internet routers and programme the network using standardized protocols.
This is NOIA solution to core internet problems and our way of solving the problems. Many ISP routers, DCs support segment routing, the topology is available and they are open for transit. You can send traffic through any one of them with full routes programmed into data itself. You can react to changes in the network and programme your data to go along certain paths.
With Segment Routing and IPv6, public internet becomes one unified Software Defined Network instead of combination of independent fragmented networks.
